This course is NCBTMB Approved for 4 CEs and consists of 16 modules that are approximately fifteen-minute each.
In this oncology massage webinar, students will learn to develop:
- an understanding of the history of cancer
- an understanding of current statistical data related to cancer
- an understanding of the medical terminology related to cancer
- an understanding of what oncology massage is
- an understanding of what cancer is and its stages of development
- an understanding of types of cancer pain & how cancer metastasizes
- an understanding of cancer fatigue
- an understanding of cancer treatments
- an understanding of the effects of chemotherapy treatments and side effects
- an understanding of the effects of chemo brain and CIPN side effects
- an understanding of the effects of radiation therapy treatments and side effects
- an understanding of deep vein thrombosis risk factors & cancer
- an understanding of the physiological effects of lymphatic drainage massage and cancer
- an understanding of the anatomical features and terminology of the functional lymphatic system
- an understanding of the precautions related to other oncology massage techniques
- an understanding of potential modifications of oncology massage.
At the end of each module, there is a self-assessment/quiz. At the conclusion of the entire webinar there is a graded final examination. A Certificate of Achievement will automatically be generated upon successful completion of the final exam and a passing score of 75%.
